What An Unusual Year!
Life and the way we have been running our businesses has certainly been turned up side down.
Things were quiet at the galleries and with sales at the beginning of Lockdown. Since Summer however interest in my work and sales have been amazing. My online exhibition which replaced my Skye Exhibition was hugely successful. On the back of that, two other galleries had great sales; Gallery Heinzel in Aberdeen, and Annan Gallery in Glasgow.
Through one thing and another, I have cut down the number of Galleries that I now show with. My own production has slowed down a bit and I am drawn to that word - “retirement”!
Certainly I want to play more! (My favourite sport Pickleball beckons me and we play outdoors in all sorts of weather!) But as I was quoted in the Living Magazine “An artist never retires!". This was a great article written by Maggie Ritchie and had a tremendous response.
The good news is that the Annan Gallery are now the only gallery that represent me in Glasgow - I’m delighted with Scott and Susan and how they deal with their artists. They also own the Strathearn Gallery in Crieff where I’ll be showing next October.
With many galleries not being able to run their Christmas Exhibitions, I’ve decided to release a few paintings again directly from here, my website.
