The Studio

In this section I'm putting some personal photos. West cottage studio provides the ideal place to work and live. The cottage is in a lovely village on the outskirts of Glasgow below the Campsie Hills. The interior living space with chunky chimney was designed by Martin Lamden in 2000. In 2014, Andy Steel of DAS design designed a fabulous new extension with a glass link to a further Living space. Those of you who visited will remember the front entrance housed my washing machine! I also have a cottage in Skye which has a studio in the garden - an Armadillo Pod. It's right on the beach and has amazing view over to Knoydart. You'll see many of my paintings of the view in Coastlines. I run an annual exhibition at An Talla Dearg in Isle Ornsay, Skye for 5 weeks in the summer. I rent the cottage out the rest of the time. The Studio

The Studio is built into the house accommodating all of my needs. I like to work on several paintings at one time, building each one up over several stages. I like time to reflect on each painting.

The Dogs

The Old Pack - Diesel the Weimaraner, Vodka the Dalmation, Yoshi the Shar-Pei and Toti Man the Springer Spaniel who was re-homed from Skye have sadly died. They will always be remembered and never replaced.

My new companions are Reuben the Weimaraner who was born in 2012, Mollie the Collie who was born in 2005 and whom we walked with the old pack and Harry Renaud, the French Bulldog born in 2012.
